hier schon mal was zum lesen bzgl. der Su-34 - wegen Weihnachten habe ich leider keine Zeit eine dtsch.Zusammenfassung mitzuliefern ... trotzdem viel Spaß:
"First Su-34 Test Flight Successful
The first test flight of the new Russian modified Su-34 fighter-bomber was made successfully, Russia's air force commander-in-chief, General Colonel Vladimir Mikhaylov has announced.
As an RIA Novosti correspondents sends, the flight took place in Novosibirsk at the airfield of the local Chkalov aviation production association, which had received the state order for the production of airplanes of this type.
The experimental flight lasted nearly 25 minutes. After landing, the test pilots who had been flying the aircraft, reported directly on the runway to Russia's air force CinC that the flight had been successful.
At a press conference after the flight, air force CinC General Colonel Vladimir Mikhaylov declared that the new Su-34 fighter bombers gradually will replace in near future the Su-24 combat airplanes the Russian air force now has.
“In the opinion of the experts, the Su-34 has available all capabilities so that it will remain the best in its class for many decades,” the CinC reported. “There is still no equal to the aircraft in the world.”
The development of this combat airplane was begun as early as the end of the 1980s. At the present time, eight such airplanes have been produced, and right now they are undergoing tests, the air force commander-in-chief reported.
The CinC noted that series production of these airplanes is beginning in Russia. At the same time, the general didn’t specify when the Su-34 will stand up in Russia's air force inventory.
The Novosibirsk Oblast’ governor, Viktor Tolokonskiy, who was present at the activity, declared to journalists that for the Novosibirsk Aviation Production Association, this event signifies a resumption of full-scale aircraft production activity for Russia's air force needs.

First Series-Built Su-34 Lifted into Air at Novosibirsk
The first flight of the Su-34 strike aviation complex built at the Novosibirsk Aviation Production Association (NAPO) has taken place, the director for communications with the public of the Sukhoy Aviation Holding Company, Yuriy Chervakov, has reported to Interfax-AVN.
The chief of the general staff of the Russian Federation air force, General of the Army Anatoliy Kvashnin and air force commander-in-chief Vladimir Mikhaylov observed the first flight the series built Su-34 which took place Saturday at the Novosibirsk Aviation Production Association airfield, which is included in the Sukhoy Aviation Holding Company. They evaluated the new airplane and the crew’s actions highly,” Yu. Chervakov said.
“The upgraded avionics complexes installed on the Su-34 were perfected successfully during state joint tests of the airplane, an important stage of which were completed in June with the receipt of the Russian air force’s preliminary opinion,” Yu. Chervakov noted.
“At the same time, a number of the results received exceeded the requirements of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense’s technical task,” he added.
The flight lasted 30 minutes. NAPO test pilots Evgeniy Rudakas and Aleksandr Gayvoronskiy piloted the airplane.
By the end of 2005 - start of 2006, up to 10 new Su-34 strike airplanes will built at NAPO. Approximately 50 percent of these aircraft will reach the inventory in air force and air defense units, which are deployed in the Siberian region.
As V. Mikhaylov reported at the press conference at the end of the flight tests ((sic, plural)), above all the new Su-34 will join the 11th and 14th air force and air defense armies which are deployed in Siberia. “The military needs these aircraft," he emphasized.
The Su-34 is being looked at as one of the Russian air force's highest priority programs. In the opinion ((of specialists)), the avionics level of this aircraft permits considering it for fifth generation combat airplanes. It is assumed that the Su-34 will replace the Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, and also, in part, the Su-24M tactical bombers.
At the same time, V. Mikhaylov noted that within the framework of the state defense order, besides the series production of the Su-34 at the Chkalov NAPO, upgrade of the Su-24 also will take place.
“These aircraft (the Su-24 – Interfax) will fly and operate another 10 – 12 years,” he emphasized.
V. Mikhaylov also announced that he considers upgrade the basic direction for the development of the Russian air force. “Upgrade is necessary because a situation developing when new models are being created over a rather long time, at a time when development of the electronics outpaces them,” he explained.
In all, starting from 1993, eight examples of the Su-34 (previous designation is Su-27IB) have been built in Novosibirsk.

Series Production of Su-34 to Begin in Near Future
On Saturday, 20 December, the first flight of the upgrade Su-34 attack aircraft took place at the base of the Novosibirsk Chkalov Aviation Production Association in the presence of Russia's air force commander-in-chief General Colonel Vladimir Mikhaylov, Governor Viktor Tolokonskiy and also the management and worker of the plant. At the press conference which took place afterwards, a representative of the state customer reported on the decision to transfer to NAPO a huge defense order for the needs of Russia’s air force.
Thus, series production of the newest Su-34 attack aircraft for our country's air force will begin in the very near future. Moreover, 12 Su-24 airplanes will arrive at the enterprise for overhaul and technical improvement. The decision adopted was a result of negotiations which were held between the leadership of the Novosibirsk Oblast’ and the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense.
According to an announcement of Governor Viktor Tolokonskiy, this event has a great social significance for the region’s residents, inasmuch as with the start of the execution of this order, nearly 500 additional jobs will be created at the enterprise, and all 7,000 workers of the plant will be assured work for many years.
Moreover, the NGS news service notes with a reference to the head of the Oblast' administration, the location of such a huge state defense order at the Novosibirsk enterprise also will allow stirring up appreciably scientific and production activity in the region.

Russia’s Air Force to Receive Fifth Generation Fighter Bomber
Russia’s air force may receive into the inventory the newest fifth generation tactical fighter bomber. The flight of the first series-built Su-34, which has no analogues in the world, took place the past weekend, our correspondent Nikita Sumerkin reports.
The first flight of the newest Su-34 lasted half an hour. According to the preliminary conclusion of the experts, the airplane exceeds even those technical requirements which the Ministry of Defense presented to the developers.
In particular, the level of this aircraft' avionics allows considering it for fifth generation airplanes and to remain the best in its class even longer.
The Su-34 is able to destroy heavily defended targets in any weather. The attack aircraft is equipped with a large caliber cannon, self-guided missiles and bombs with an operational radius up to 250 kilometers and dog fighting missiles. Moreover, there are air-to-air missiles in the arsenal which destroy both enemy airplanes and guided missiles. The pilot have helmets for this which allow locking onto a target in a single glance.
At the same time, the Su-34 is capable of low-altitude flight with terrain following at low altitude within striking distance of the enemy’s air defense systems. All of this makes it the best among foreign similar types.
As the air force commander-in-chief, Vladimir Mikhaylov, declared, the domestic forces will be equipped first with the new generation of attack aircraft. Up to now, only foreigners have been buying aircraft of such a level. It is planned that in the coming 2 years, 10 Su-34 will be produced, which will reach air force and air defense armies which are deployed in Siberia.
