Atlantic "257"after a successful emergency landing in the water, exactly next to the beach.
This landing was seen by a large crowd of beach visitors. (Summer holiday)
Location: North sea Scheveningen beach.
Date:15th of august 1973.
The plane kept afloat. After arrival of divers, extra flotation gear was attached.
Eventually, a naval tug towed the plane to the naval base of Den Helder.
The air frame was later scrapped.
No injuries.
The Netherlands had 9 Atlantics in their inventory.
In service september 1969 - Out service december 1984.
Corrosion and maintenance problems led to a early retirement.
The surviving air frames (6) were returned to France.

255/ 257.
Regrettably some crew members lost their life.
