Hallo FF-Leser,
Moechte mal wissen ob jemand helfen kann; woher diesen AT-6F Texans der DLB damals gekommen sind.
Was wondering if someone would be able to help, to find out where the AT-6F Texans came from, when these were registered for DLB in 1957/1958. In those days also a number of AT-6F Texans(Harvards) were registered in France, for the Air France training; those being F-BJBP / F-BJBV.
In my records all those T-6s, French and German, are listed as having been used by the USA(A)F in Europe (e.g. WW2 9AF, postwar 406FBW Manston). Obviously they became redundant in the (late) fifties and they were probably sold at a kind of auction. The German registered AT-6F Texans were: D-FAMA, FAMU, FATI, FDEM, FDOK, FIBA and FOTO
I expect this auction having been somewhere in Germany (where they were stored?). Who knows?
Feedback very much appreciated.
Regards,
Benno
