Isarel sells upgraded KFIR to Brazil
Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) will deliver twelve upgraded KFIR 2000 figther aircraft to the Brazilian Air Force. The contract has a reported value of some US$60 million. The aircraft, which have been held in storage since being withdrawn from Israel Air Force's service in 1995, will be refurbished to the KFIR 2000 configuration with an new radar, advanced cockpit and avionics suite, advanced weapons and modern electronic warfare systems. They will replace some of the ageing Mirage III fighters which will all be phased out of service by 2005.
