Bradley officials said that they are on-scene of an accident involving a Collings Foundation World War II aircraft.
The FAA said in a statement that it was a vintage Boeing B-17 that crashed along Runway 6 while trying to land around 10 a.m.
"It is a civilian registered aircraft, not flown by the military," the FAA added.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has also responded to the scene.
