AW: Neues "fliegendes Museum" in Bonn-Hangelar??
Hallo zusammen!
Am 20.06. d.J. hat Oliver Wulff im Key Publishing Forum folgendes Statement zu seiner Sammlung bzw. zum geplanten "Fliegenden Museum" in Bonn-Hangelar veröffentlicht:
"Time to shed some light on all of this. Yes I am German and yes I presently live in Dubai, yes I have the intention to use the most noise sensitive airfield in all of Germany and yes the first politician has already complained. (many more confirmations to come). I presently own a SE5a, the BE2e, and hopefully soon an Albatros DVa plus an original wwi hangar set up in 1917 (including wwii bullet holes) on the cited airfield St Augustin Hangelar. The Se5a is presently in Mannheim and I would like to move it to the UK as soon as possible to get it registered there. This AC will also be made available to WAHT as will the Alb Dva once completed. The idea is to operate all these AC's throughout the wwi commemorative events and a variety of, predominantly British, airshows. It is my hope that by providing these they will form a nucleus around which the WAHT can evolve its activities. Furthermore there is a Fokker Dvii in the works. It had been started by a dedicated amateur builder in Germany and after thorough investigations I have come to the conclusion, that although far progressed I will need to replace the fuselage, moving parts etc. Fortunately the basic structure of the wings is usable (if one is content with a slightly higher stall speed). The engine is flight worthy and tested and the radiator is being built by the German firm of Manfred Schneider. Just as in the war this AC will be a late arrival. My long term goal is to establish a small flying museum in Hangelar combined with a repair shop and possibly a restaurant. Given my present occupation and location the time frame for this is +/- 5 years. If you are interested I have posted part of my collection:
www.jasta11.com please excuse the somewhat amateurish website it is homebuild (couldn't be a true German if I did not make one apology at least).... The Fieseler Storch (C-3 WerkNo 1049) will be registered and based in Germany. Hope this helps Cheers Oliver"
Ob all die tollen Ideen realisiert werden können, bleibt abzuwarten. Auf jeden Fall kann man soviel Mut und Initiative nur bewundern...
Gruß
Thomas
