Hallo, hat jemand Infos zur FW-200 "THÜRINGEN "und ihren Verbleib?
AM96, Focke Wulf Fw 200 C, WNr. 0111
D-ASVX Thuringen of DLH, coded ‚1’. Surrendered at Flensburg.
There is some doubt regarding the WNr, which is as quoted in RAE records (the original holder of the registration and fleet name having been Wnr 021).
Air tested at Schleswig on 8th August 1945 by s/Ldr McCarthy. Flown from Schleswig to Farnborough on 15th September 1945 by S/Ldr King. Returned to Schleswig on 18th September but flown back to RAE on 13th October.
On 16th October the British government agreed to release this and one other Fw 200to the Danish government for use by the Danish airline DDL. AM96 returned to Schleswig on20th October and, after maintenance work had been carried out on it there by Danish engineers, it flew from Schleswig to Copenhagen/Kastrup on 12th February 1946.
The use of this aircraft by DDL became unviable after the second ex-British Fw 200 crashed at Schleswig on its delivery flight and DDL’s own aircraft, OY-DEM, suffered an accident at Northolt in England, later in 1946.
AM96 was scrapped at Kastrup in 1948, the remains being sold to a farmer for use as a chicken-coop.
