The point is that I drew attention to some literature references that have given different unit codes, but may well be wrong. That was the content of my post from 11/09/2022. It therefore did not require any correction.

Charly: I'm not an expert. I just started doing research with Peter Cornwell at a time when we were able to visit Germany and interview some of those who flew the Bf 110. I also attended the 'Wespentreffen' on many occasions and met many of those who flew in the Battle of Britain and the Russian Front. Here's a photo of me at one of the Wespentreffen held at the Hotel Selau in Neunkirchen-am-Brand in the 1980s. I'm on the extreme left in the blue top; in the maroon jacket is Wolfgang Schenck, who led 'Kommando Schenck' in the summer of 1944 working the Me 262 fighter-bomber up to combat status, then flew 40 missions in the fighter-bomber 262. I spent more time with Schenck at the Wespentreffen and at his home in Marburg-Lahn than with any other Luftwaffe pilot.

I am still working on the Battle of Britain. I am a 'Specialist Contributor(Luftwaffe) for the book series 'Battle of Britain Combat Archive', which presently is up to 15th September 1940, and has reached 13 volumes! It is an excellent series for anyone interested in the Battle. I cannot post a link to the publisher's website until I have made 10 posts.
